Paper Potters

At Hortica our committment to sustainable horticulture means that we are always on the lookout for new and exciting ways in which we can be more responsible in the garden. Our range of garden products reflects this and we are constantly updating the various gardening accessories and garden tools so check back with us regularly. One of the more ingenious additions to our catalogue is the paper potter.

Paper potters are extremely popular amongst organic gardeners because this little wooden tool allows you to turn old newspapers into seed pots. The finished pots are bio-degradable and kind to the plants tender roots too. It is possible to transplant seedlings from their newspaper pots with a minimum of fuss or disturbance to the plant.

There are several other advantages to paper potters. Not only do they create environmentally ethical seed pots, by enabling you to re-use old newspapers they are a more cost effective solution to regular seedling pots. They are also a fun way for children to get into gardening, whilst also teaching them important lessons about looking after our environment.
